Split This Rock Poetry Festival is the progeny of DC Poets Against the War. Local activists and members of DC Poets Against the War meet to talk about the origins of the movement, and to share poems and stories of five years of organizing and resistance here in DC and globally. This is also an opportunity to brainstorm about next steps for Split This Rock.

1:00- 3 p.m.       Silent March to White House for closing ceremony, Meet at GW         

We will walk five city blocks from the reading to Lafayette Park, across from the White House. Please bring signs with art and poetry as well as a favorite line from a poem (12 word maximum), reflecting your peace and justice hopes, for a collaborative Cento poem to be read in Split This Rock’s closing ceremony.
